I’m excited to announce I will be serving as one of six judges for the Miss Texas Pageant!
(a state pageant that leads to the Miss America Pageant on September 11, 2016 in Atlantic City)
The Miss Texas competition is set to begin on Monday, June 27th with the private interview competition. As the week gets underway there will be three nights of preliminary competitions where the women will compete in talent, swimsuit, evening gown, and onstage question. The final night of competition is scheduled for Saturday, July 2nd.
Will we be crowning the next Miss America?
I am humbled and honored to be a part of such a prestigious panel of judges and I’m excited for my week in Texas! In a few short days I will be headed to Dallas to meet the 56 contestants vying for the Miss Texas crown. Below is a link to a picture list of the Miss Texas contestants along with head shots and bios of the Miss Texas judges!
Stay up to date during the Miss Texas Pageant week, and gain an insiders look “in the shoes of a judge” by following me on my blog. Or for immediate and more timely updates be sure to follow my social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+).
Over the past few weeks I have spent hours reading resumes and platform statements of each contestant. I have two pages per contestant and one photo… the notebook I received is busting 2″ three-ring binder!
As I have read each contestants profile (which has taken me somewhere in the neighborhood of 25+ hours to read) I have prepared a unique set of questions for each of the contestants. And I must admit the line-up of women is fierce!
I’m very excited for the private interview portion of the competition as I will not only be vetting the contestants to see who is ready for the Miss Texas crown, but I have formulated my questions to gain an insight into the mind-set of women ages 17-24 in order to further study the age group of students I enjoy working with as a speaker and student life coach.
