I want to thank you for your prayers and support last week while I was in Kansas sharing my motivational message with several thousand students and a TV audience! It proved to be a very successful whirlwind.
My adventure started at KWCH Ch. 12 in Wichita, KS where I was a guest on The Brett & Sierra Show.
While I was at the TV station I ran into this beauty who is the CH 12 Traffic Reporter… Amanda Sasek Jaeger, Miss Kansas 2014!
After my TV interview I hustled next door where I had to advance past two rounds of security in order to get into the Koch Industries building. At Koch I met with eight people on the creative/executive team of Youth Entrepreneurs… there I had the opportunity to pitch a future partnership with their YE program. They are interested! The ball is in their court and I am awaiting their response. I know this could be an amazing opportunity for the students, YE and myself… and while I want to wish it into existence it is in God’s hands. 🙂
The following morning I was involved in everything FCCLA as I was featured on the main stage of the Century II Convention Center for the Kansas FCCLA State Leadership Conference. Before the main event, I had the opportunity to teach a breakout session titled Confident & Conquering to 150 teens (and the adults in the room commented they learned a thing or two too!). Then I raced over to the main stage to deliver a dynamic 60 minute keynote titled How To Set Goals & Achieve Them to a crowd of 1,500. Before I could even say “thank you” I received a standing “O”. It was humbling. But more than anything, if they stood, it means they heard the message!
The following morning I worked with the entire student body at Andover Central High School. It was another successful presentation with a fantastic response! At this particular school I again delivered my message How To Set Goals & Achieve Them, but for the second half of my themed message I customized it to address some relevant issues such as how to persevere, mental health and taking responsibility for your own actions. My favorite part, afterward I had the opportunity to connect with several dozen students on a personal level!
The moral of the story…. I want to say thank you for your support. God is at work and I’m on His mission.
More is on the horizon… stay tuned.
P.S. I want to give a special shout out to the two women who helped me with my wardrobe for the week > Ellen from White House Black Market (at the Flatirons store in Broomfield, CO) and my AWESOME Mom!
